In the heart of Baltimore’s Port Covington neighborhood lies Maryland’s award winner distillery, Sagamore Spirit. The Maryland-style of rye whiskey was produced long before Kentucky bourbon was known to be full bodied with a significant balance from regional rye styles. Founded in 2017 by Kevin Plank and his business partners transformed their passion to revive the legacy of Maryland’s Rye Whiskey. Setting itself apart from other distilleries, Sagamore Spirit is unique in employing a collaborative team of distillers rather than a single “master distiller.” This dynamic team approach fosters innovation and consistency, driving the creation of exceptional rye whiskey that celebrates Maryland’s storied history in every sip.
