Founded in 1885, Green River Distillery stands as the 10th oldest licensed distillery in Kentucky. Nestled in Owensboro, Kentucky, they quickly rose to prominence in the early 1900s showcasing their famous tagline “The Whiskey Without A Headache” that later changed to “The Whiskey Without Regrets” today. In 2022, Green River was acquired by Bardstown Bourbon Company which combined to achieve even greater heights.

  • Green River Distilling Co. now has three award-winning products: Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Kentucky Wheated Bourbon, and Single Barrel Bourbon.
  • In 1913, Green River became the official whiskey of the U.S. Marine Hospital for 18 years due to its top-notch reputation.
  • The whiskey was so popular in the 1900s, the company once traded 20 barrels for interest in a Colorado gold mine. That mine produced some major gold, giving Green River the title of “the most expensive spirit or whiskey ever sold.
